Sarah is a new mother to a son through adoption after many years of striving to make her family a reality. Sarah credits her positive experience and very long journey of adoption to the community built through shared experience and peer support networks like Interwoven Connections. These connections fostered a passion to support, educate and advocate for others in similar positions and to help others feel supported, less alone and empowered.

Sarah’s background in education as a RECE, EA and OCT as well as lived experience, helps her to connect with others and listen with empathy and understanding. Sarah looks forward to building the Interwoven Connections community, continuing to learn through her experience and those she meets, and foster an environment of support and care for those pursuing adoption, kinship and customary care.
