An evidence-based parenting program designed specifically for Kin caregivers supporting children who have experienced trauma, loss, and separation.

Together with the Adoption Council of Ontario (ACO), Interwoven Connections is proud to offer this program to eligible Kin caregivers registered with our Peer to Peer Support Network.

About the program

Pathways to Permanency 2: Parenting Children Who Have Experienced Trauma and Loss (P2P2) is designed for caregivers where a placement has already occurred. This program supports Kin caregivers to:

  • Better understand the impact of trauma and loss

  • Strengthen attachment and connection

  • Respond to challenging behaviours with confidence

  • Increase family stability and resilience

Note: There is no requirement to complete Pathways 1 in advance. Through a partnership with Seneca Family of Agencies, the Adoption Council of Ontario holds the exclusive Ontario license to Pathways to Permanency 2.

Who Is Eligible?

This offering is specifically for:

  • Kin in Care

  • Kin in Service

  • Customary Care Caregivers

  • Legal Guardians

Important:
Participants must be registered with Interwoven Connections’ Peer to Peer Support Network.

Format & Structure

  • Delivered online via Zoom

  • Eight weekly sessions

  • Additional “Decoding” session available after completion

  • Facilitated by ACO PACT Program trainers

  • Certificate provided upon completion

Session dates and times vary throughout the year. Families who express interest will be contacted with upcoming offerings.

Technical & Privacy Requirements

To ensure a supportive and confidential learning environment:

  • Laptop or desktop computer with webcam and microphone

  • Stable internet connection (minimum 10mbps)

  • Private space during sessions (no children, teens, or non-participants in the room)

  • Zoom details will be shared with confirmed participants.

Cost

This program is offered at no cost thanks to funding from the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services in partnership with Interwoven Connections.

3. Hear from the ACO Trainer

When an offering becomes available, an Adoption Council of Ontario (ACO) PACT trainer will contact you directly with session dates, times, and next steps.
