Join us for an engaging and informative webinar with Seth Compton from OUTLoud North Bay as we explore meaningful ways to support 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in our communities.
Together, we’ll discuss how to create safer, more connected spaces where youth feel seen, respected, and supported in all parts of who they are. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the challenges 2SLGBTQIA+ youth may face, as well as meaningful strategies to strengthen connection, build trust, and support one's truest identity; something that can be challenging for youth on permanency journies.
Participants can expect:
Insight into the diverse identities within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community
Strategies for fostering acceptance and belonging at home, in schools, and in community settings
Guidance on responding to discrimination, stigma, and mental health concerns
Opportunities for reflection and questions in a supportive environment
This session welcomes adoptive parents, caregivers, educators, clinicians, and anyone committed to showing up for youth with curiosity, compassion, and affirmation. Whether you are new to this topic or looking to deepen your knowledge, this webinar offers valuable perspectives and actionable steps to better support 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.
Come ready to learn, reflect, and grow together.
About the speaker
OUTLoud North Bay emerged from a deeply personal journey. Founder Seth Compton grew up without the safety, visibility, or affirmation he needed while navigating his identity. The supportive spaces he longed for places where he could be seen, heard, and protected simply weren’t there. As an adult, parent, and advocate, Seth made a transformative choice: if those spaces didn’t exist for him, he would create them for the young people coming after him.
In November 2019, Seth and his family launched what began as a small grassroots passion project. Through their dedication, OUTLoud has grown into a vital support network for 2SLGBTQ+ youth across both Northern and Southern Ontario. Their family has invested their time, resources, and lived experience into building a community hub where young people can show up authentically and know they matter.
