Van a lived expert through being a former youth in care and later taking the role of foster parent and kin-in-care caregiver to her siblings. Actively involved in advocacy, mentoring and programming for children, youth and adults within child welfare, she has held roles on the boards of Peel Children’s Aid Society, Youth in Care Ontario and The Amy Project in past years. As a multidisciplinary creative leader, she is invested in our responsibility to tell cross cultural narratives to connect people. Van brings 13+ years of performance communications and branding across agencies, Saas, tech, and NPOs and is actively freelancing in the art world. Lately she spends her time tinkering with 3D art and riding horses.
