Genevieve Carr

Genevieve is an executive in the federal public service, and has worked on energy, environment and Indigenous policy matters at several departments and agencies since 2005. Genevieve holds a PhD from the University of Ottawa in Biology. Genevieve and her partner are parents to two teen-aged daughters, one born to them and one who joined through adoption. As a non-Indigenous parent to an Indigenous child, Genevieve is committed to walking the path of Reconciliation, contributing to positive change where she is able, in both her personal and professional lives. Genevieve is equally committed to growing her parenting skills, acknowledging that adoption brings joy and also trauma and that supporting her adopted child's development requires tools she's never used before. Interwoven Connections has been a big help in Genevieve's parenting journey thus far, and she is eager to contribute to the continued evolution of the organization.
