HR Manager
We’re hiring a Human Resources Manager!

Salary: $34 to $38 per hour
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Reports to: Senior Director, Operations

Purpose of the role:
The Manager of Human Resources provides guidance and support to the entire team at Interwoven Connections in all areas of Human Resources including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, off-boarding, terminations, performance management, talent management and succession planning, training and development, employee relations, compliance with employment law, maintaining employee records, etc. We seek to cultivate rewarding employee experiences, and we understand that our employees thrive when they are supported by a trustworthy and knowledgeable HR Manager.
Priority will be given to candidates with connections to underserved communities, particularly those with connection to child welfare systems or those with complex children’s health and development needs. This role is especially well-suited for individuals with direct lived experience of caregiving in adoption, kinship, and/or customary care.
How you’ll make an impact:
Oversee HR-related policy and program development, implementation, and monitoring.
Manage the recruitment and selection process including creating and promoting job descriptions, ensuring diverse, equitable, and barrier-free recruiting practices, screening, developing interview questions, scheduling and conducting interviews and reference checks, acknowledging candidates’ applications, and presenting employment offers.
Facilitate orientation and onboarding processes, for both employees and Board members.
Develop and manage performance management plans and processes including 30-60-90 day paths to success, goal and objective setting, performance improvement plans, etc.
Work with directors, managers, and leads to resolve potential conflicts inhibiting employee success.
Provide advice on and leads the termination process.
Develop employee retention and engagement strategies, in collaboration with business owners and key contributors.
Stay up to date with legislative changes (provincial and federal) in employment standards, human rights, etc. and ensure compliance.
Collect and analyze human resources data, providing insights and recommendations that support a fair and inclusive work environment for all employees.
Maintain accurate employee records, including staff files, attendance, Employee Handbook, and other HR documentation
Facilitate internal employee-focused communications, for information affecting all employees.
Identify opportunities to create efficiencies, streamline operations, and implement new processes to handle tasks and assist in various projects.
Consult and collaborate with external HR resources and consultants as required, based on the needs of the organization.
What makes you a great fit?
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration or equivalent experience
Current CHRP designation
3+ years of experience in human resources
Strong computer skills. Experience in the use of Microsoft suite of products
Easily builds trust and confidence with people in an authentic and genuine fashion
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English is required; verbal and written competencies in French would be an asset.
Direct lived caregiving experience with adoption, kinship, and/or customary care would be an asset in this role.
